James Gooden Jr.

	James Gooden Jr., 71, of Pinckneyville, passed away Friday, August 3, 2001 at 9:30 p.m. in St. Marys Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
	Mr. Gooden had been a Foreman at the Barber Sawmill. 
	He was born December 30, 1929 at Royalton, the son of James and Zethel (Morgan) Gooden Sr.  He married Barbara Bigler on October 31, 1959 at Pinckneyville.
	Surviving are his wife, Barbara of Pinckneyville; sons, Jerry and wife Sandra of Steeleville, Roger and significant other Theresa of Pinckneyville and Thomas and wife Kelly of Pittsburg; daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Tom Engelhardt of Pinckneyville; sister, pat Eisenhauer of Vergennes; brothers, Bob Gooden of DuQuoin, Charles Gooden of Paxton, Bill Gooden of Herrin and Floyd Gooden of Carbondale and five grandchildren, Mike Gooden, Amy Gooden, Danni Gooden, Luke Rendleman and Dustin Engelhardt.
	 He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Tom.
	Funeral services were Tuesday, August 7 at 11 a.m. at Neal-McClure Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jim Gregory officiating.  Interment was in McElvain Cemetery at DuQuoin.
	 Friends called at Neal-McClure Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until services.
